As a sceptic, I don’t understand how printed cards can “predict the future”. To me, they don’t predicting the future. Tarot cards are a tool that allow intuitive Tarot readers to facilitate a connection to currently unresearched energy patterns. The goal is to create awareness so that clients can change their future and not have it unroll as if it was “destiny”.

In a Tarot reading, I connect to energy patterns that our society forgets to consult when solving life problems. One day someone will write the first of a thousand papers on those energy “whatevertheyare”. In the meantime, professional Tarot Readers take a more pragmatic approach. They use them to help people tackle tricky life issues. A Tarot Reader is a normal person who has mastered the art of being a translator between a researched and an unresearched part of our reality. The unresearched part being just as real as the researched one, just that it’s invisible, like ionized radiation was real, even before the invention of the geiger counter.

Despite lots of bad press, the real Tarot (not the entertainment kind) relentlessly and stubbornly keeps on helping, especially with those problems that are belittled and trivialised as “your personal, bad choice”. People sense that a Tarot reading can help, and it reliably delivers. To save a career or a marriage, to quit a habit, to make sense of a disturbing family system, to cope with a major life event, or simply to discover a life purpose. People use a reading as a daily helper, a supplement to a therapeutic practice, or a life “sanity check”.

We don’t know why it works, but it seems irrational to not simply use all resources we have available to make life more bearable. Especially when those resources have no harmful effects on oneself or others. The toll of pursuing the wrong goals, sticking with the wrong people or making the wrong choices is a life not lived to its full potential. It might turn out to be the irrational thing to not take advantage of a bit of “whoo-whoo”. Often, a Tarot Reading that cost less than a massage ends up being so powerful, it will accompany a client for years and literally change their lives. (see my client reviews for some examples)

My studio is called “Atelier Carousel”, because life is a carousel. We go round and round, and back home again, to a place where we are loved.
